Coordination Meeting of the Working Groups at the “Nature Conservation Center” with RAED’s Participation
The Arab Network for
Environment and Development (RAED) participated in a coordination meeting to
follow up on the progress made by the working groups it is coordinating, within
the Nature Conservation Center (NCC) at the American University of Beirut (AUB),
in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for
Western Asia (UN-ESCWA).
RAED is leading the
third subgroup of the working groups, which is responsible for developing a
proposal for a significant regional project focused on biodiversity
conservation through the implementation of nature-based solutions. The proposed
project will cover several countries, including Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, and
Egypt.
During the meeting,
which was held virtually, Ghada Ahmedien, Programs Director at RAED, delivered
a summary on behalf of the third working group members regarding the progress
made on the biodiversity conservation project. The summary was well received by
the group coordinators, and an agreement was reached on a timeline to finalize
all project proposals by mid-June.
