Educational and Recreational Event on Protecting Sea Turtles at “Masaeed” Cultural Palace

The “Masaeed” Cultural Palace in North Sinai hosted an educational and recreational event for the Sea Scouts, organized in collaboration between the Sinai Women’s Rights Association and the Cultural Palace. The event aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote biodiversity conservation. It featured a variety of activities, including creative workshops and educational sessions, where children engaged in drawing and coloring activities focused on the importance of protecting sea turtles and reducing plastic pollution.

The event was part of the “Small Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa – Phase III (PPI-OSCAN3),” implemented in Egypt under a cooperation agreement between the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) and the Mediterranean Cooperation Office of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

A scientific lecture was delivered by a conservation expert from the Zaranik Protected Area, addressing the lifecycle of sea turtles and the challenges they face. This enriched the children’s knowledge and fostered their interest in environmental conservation and protecting endangered species.

The Sinai Women’s Rights Association oversees the implementation of the Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Arish, aimed at preserving biodiversity. The project seeks to enhance environmental awareness and activate community involvement in safeguarding natural resources through purposeful activities that combine education and entertainment.
