GRASP Egypt seeks project
To enhance concerted efforts between safe social networks and civil society activities in Upper Egypt, in addition to enhancing the effectiveness of local development policies adopted by local authorities.

Contributing to improving social, economic, and living conditions among the poorest local communities, by forming partnerships with relevant authorities for the purpose of working to empower and build the capabilities of local civil society.

 

Brief description of the project

 

Preparing an initial assessment of the institutional capabilities of grassroots civil associations in order to select the targeted associations. A package of training programs will be implemented for these grassroots associations. This is in the areas of managing development projects, how to attract beneficiaries, and mechanisms for using artistic and technical tools, as a first stage.

In the second phase, the project worked to provide the necessary funding for the selected initiatives and projects, in addition to providing technical assistance in designing and implementing small projects implemented by the associations, while working to follow up the implementation of these projects and verify their results.

Project results

 

The capacities of about 80 grassroots organizations were built, and the implementation of about 40 pilot projects was funded.
These projects were distinguished by their innovative ideas that can be replicated in other places, in various fields, including providing livelihoods and food security, preserving the environment, entrepreneurship, and improving the social and economic conditions of women, which generally aimed to improve the economic and social level of the most needy families, and provide opportunities. For youth, increasing women’s participation and empowerment.
