Blue Green Project
Overall goal
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen existing cooperation and financial opportunities and to promote new opportunities among Euro-Mediterranean civil society organizations specialized in the fields of water and environment, thus doubling their contribution to the field of sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.
Project goals
The project specifically aims to:
Supporting participation and cooperation with civil society organizations in the southern Mediterranean in several areas, including wetland protection and sustainable management, integrated management of water resources, education for sustainable development and environmental awareness, in addition to marine waste through an integrated and interactive capacity building program that combines technical and organizational expertise and tools. That builds on existing practices and projects.
Developing dialogue mechanisms between civil society, public authorities, and relevant stakeholders by supporting existing participation mechanisms and promoting new ones.
Project activities
Implement capacity building programs (such as on-the-job training, face-to-face training) and regional study visits supported by a grant scheme for learning-by-doing initiatives focusing on environmental and water issues.
Supporting partnerships between beneficiary civil society organizations and civil society organizations with expertise in issues related to the environment and water.
Strengthening existing networks by joining specialized civil society organizations. Promote dialogue between public authorities and civil society organizations for greater participation in policy making.

Project results
Develop the technical, organizational and institutional capacities of at least 120 Mediterranean civil society organizations working in the field of the environment to provide goods and services to communities in a more efficient and sustainable way.
Help build innovative projects due to the ability of civil society organizations to design, implement, monitor and evaluate innovative projects with potential.
Selected civil society organizations will actively participate and contribute to national policy dialogues and regional actions on relevant environmental and water issues.
