Participation of Aswan University Students in Seed Bank Project Activities
As part of the third phase of the Small-Scale Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa (PPI OSCAN3) and within the activities of the “Seed Bank in Aswan” project implemented by the Benban Energy Investors Association, seed sorting activities are ongoing with the participation of students from the Faculty of Fisheries and Fisheries Technology at Aswan University.
The project aims to enhance the role of youth and university students in community engagement and natural resource development by involving them in seed sorting processes. This participation promotes student involvement in preserving biodiversity and agricultural resources while enabling them to gain practical experiences beneficial for their future careers.
This collaboration reflects the importance of teamwork and contributes to achieving sustainable development goals. A variety of seeds have been sorted, including those of “Lalob palm, Albida, Radiana, Mimosa pudica, Castor, Sesbania and Moringa” plants.
The Small-Scale Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa (PPI OSCAN3) is being implemented in collaboration between the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Regional Cooperation Office for the Mediterranean.
