“Green Road” Project Begins Tree Planting Around Wadi El-Rayan Protected Area
As part of the Small-Scale Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa (PPI OSCAN), and in collaboration with the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) – Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation, the Youth Association for Development and Creativity has launched the second phase of the “Green Road” project in Wadi El-Rayan Reserve, Fayoum Governorate. The initiative aims to enhance biodiversity and restore the natural areas surrounding the Protectorates.
This step is part of a comprehensive plan to improve the surrounding ecosystem and expand green spaces. A total of 150 trees were planted along the road leading to Ashtum El-Gamil Protected Area and 250 trees along the road to Wadi El-Rayan Protected Area. These efforts contribute to improving the local environment and promoting eco-tourism in the region.
