Field visits to the Protected Areas as part of the “Green Road” initiative

A field visit was conducted to inspect tree planting sites as part of the “Green Road” project, which utilizes nature-based solutions to enhance biodiversity. This project is implemented by the Youth Development and Innovation Foundation under the Small Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa (PPI-OSCAN), in partnership with the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) and the IUCN Center for Mediterranean Cooperation. The visit was coordinated with the heads of the Environmental Affairs Agency and directors of Nature Protected Areas.

The Youth Development and Innovation Foundation had the honor of organizing a field visit to the Ashtoum Protected Area in Port Said and the Burullus Protected Area in Kafr El-Sheikh as part of the “Green Road” initiative. This initiative aims to protect the environment and enhance biodiversity by planting trees along roads leading to nature reserves.

During the visit, the team surveyed proposed tree-planting sites and identified the best locations to help rejuvenate these scenic areas and support eco-tourism.
