Capacity Building/Mediterranean Environment Programme (CB / MEP) was implemented under the supervision of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA),Through a coalition of more than 15 bodies and organizations, including RAED.

The program was implemented in 14 Mediterranean countries, including eight Arab countries on the Mediterranean basin.

RAED collaborated with NKUA in the implementation of the project activities, which aims to support and activate the Horizon 2020 initiative. The initiative focuses on Mediterranean decontamination by 2020. Especially in the areas of municipal waste, wastewater treatment and industrial emissions, which account for 80% of pollution in the Mediterranean.
