The H2020 initiative was one of the 6 largest projects that were developed in the Mediterranean region. RAED was responsible for the communication with the press and media in promoting the Mediterranean Environmental Programme to publish the objectives of H2020 initiative. The Mediterranean Environmental Forum achieved in performing 130 activities & trainings with more than 3000 trainees from certain areas in the Mediterranean concerning the wastewater treatment, industrial pollution and combining the environmental perspectives.

The goal of the programme is to find solutions for the main causes of pollution in the Mediterranean countries, such as solid wastes, harmful industrial emissions, wastewater which is 80% of the water pollution in the Mediterranean sea.

The projects took place in Egypt organized by RAED and it is an official partner in implementing the capacity building/Mediterranean Environmental Programme CB/MEP and also RAED participated in organizing workshops and trainings.

The project includes 11 organizations, unions and ministries. RAED is one of them, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and the Mediterranean Information Office (MIO).
